Disabled Refuge Line Controllers

Disabled refuge line controllers (also known as master controllers) are devices that allow two-way communication between the people within the designated "refuge" areas and the rescue teams or emergency responders. The line controllers are typically installed at the central control room and connected to several outstations installed at each refuge area. The master unit displays the location of each call from a refuge outstation and allows the rescue teams to speak to the individuals within the refuge area and offer reassurance or guidance until help arrives. These controllers are designed to be simple and intuitive, allowing even untrained individuals to use them effectively in an emergency.
