Fire Alarm Cable & Accessories

The sustained and reliable operation of a wired fire alarm system is heavily dependent upon the integrity of the cable connections between the mains supply, control panel and all field devices. Use of insufficient cabling and fixings is one of the most common causes of system faults and failures, therefore using suitably resistant and compliant equipment is paramount to successful operation. We offer a range of high quality, fully compliant cable and fixing solutions designed for competent fire alarm installation companies and electricians to utilise in their small works and installation projects.
  • Fire-resistant cable is a type of electrical cable designed to maintain its structural and electrical integrity for a specified period of time in the event of a fire. These cables are made of materials that are fire-resistant, slow-burning and are designed to prevent the spread of fire by limiting the release of toxic fumes and smoke. The use of fire-resistant cable helps to ensure the continuity of power and communication during a fire, supporting the safe evacuation of building occupants and helping the fire-fighting efforts.

We always hold good stock levels of fire resistant cable from leading brands such as Prysmian's FP200 Gold.

  • In order to comply with British Standards (BS5839 - Fire Alarm, BS5266 - Emergency Lighting & BS7671 - IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition), the cabling for fire alarm and emergency lighting systems must be secured with suitably fire resistant cable supports which can maintain their function for a minimum of 120 minutes up to temperatures of 970 degrees. This is necessary to prevent cable systems from collapsing in the event of a fire and causing a hazard or hindering the safe evacuation of a building. We offer a range of high quality, fire resistant cable fixings and supports which are fully compliant to the above standards.
