Two-Wire Smoke & Heat Detectors
Two-wire fire detectors are designed to operate on a two-wire circuit and are used alongside a compatible two-wire fire alarm panel (also known as bi-wire, sav-wire or twin-wire). The two-wire design allows for the fire detectors to be installed on the same pair of cables as the sounder devices, reducing installation costs compared to standard conventional systems.
Unlike most conventional systems, two-wire detectors require the use of a specifically compatible two-wire fire panel and supporting devices, usually from the same brand or range.
AlarmSense is a range of conventional fire detection and alarm products designed to be connected to the same pair of supply wires, making installation quicker and less expensive. AlarmSense has been developed to make the design and installation of a fire detection and alarm system easier and more economic for small to medium-sized buildings. Using microprocessor control these devices offer the installer a full range of detection capabilities with audible and visual warning in one compact device for full DDA compliance. The detectors can be matched to the environment in which they are installed and changed any time during the lifetime of the installation. The mode of detection required can be changed simply by configuring the DIL switch in the detector electronics module.
