Grade C under BS5839-6 is a system of separate fire detectors and alarm sounders (which may be combined in the form of smoke alarms) that are mains powered with back-up power supply and with a central element of control (panel or control switch).
Under the requirements of BS5839-6 2019 a Grade D1 system is defined as a system with one or more mains powered devices containing a tamper-proof standby power supply (Battery). All of the below devices are suitable for use as part of a Grade D1 fire alarm system.
As specified by BS5839-6, a Grade D2 system comprises of one or more mains-powered detectors, each with an integral standby power supply consisting of a user-replaceable battery or batteries. All of the below devices are suitable for use as part of a BS5839-6 Grade D2 fire alarm system.
Grade F1 detection as defined by BS5839-6 2019 is a system containing at least one battery powered detector which has a tamper proof back up battery. All of the below devices are suitable for use in F1 Graded systems.
To meet the requirements of BS5839-6 for a Grade F2 system the detection devices can be battery powered with a user-replaceable battery. All of the devices below are suitable for use as part of a BS5839-6 Grade F2 system.
