Replacing Discontinued Smoke & Heat Alarms
Below you will find a list of popular discontinued smoke alarms accompanied by our suggestion and advice on replacement. Some replacement models will use the same fixings and connections as the previous model meaning an easier and simpler replacement process, however, some may require the old fixings/connections to be replaced entirely. If the fixings do require replacement this may require a competent person / qualified electrician to carry out the replacement for you, particularly in the case of mains powered alarms where wiring connections require changing. We have provided advice on the fixings below for each alarm model.
Please Note: When replacing mains-powered alarms, if you have more than one alarm installed, they may be interlinked by a hard-wire connection or radio connection. Alarms must be from the same manufacturer and compatible series in order for the interlink to work, replacing alarms with a different brand / manufacturer may stop an existing interlink network from operating correctly. Please contact us if you are unsure or need advice on compatibility.
