The Firechief Premium Battery Fire Blankets are designed to endure high temperatures in an oxidising environment for an extended period, as well as provide protection against debris and shrapnel that may be released during a battery fire. The PBB1 blanket is suitable for use on scooters, tools, and IT equipment.
These fire blankets are manufactured from fire-resistant technical fabrics, which are made of high-temperature-resistant silica glass fibers. Flame deflection protection and abrasion resistance are added to these fibers using various proprietary surface coatings. The non-flammable glass fabric, which is coated with a vermiculite dispersion mineral, is overlaid with a sacrificial protective silicone layer.
These blankets have been tested on exposed Lithium-ion batteries of up to 840 Wh.
