Espire Mains Powered Heat & Carbon Monoxide Alarm with 10 Year Backup Battery (ES1CHLV)

The Espire ES1CHLV is a Grade D1 mains-powered carbon monoxide and heat multi-sensor alarm designed for combined thermal and toxic gas protection in residential fuel-burning spaces and kitchens. Certified to both EN 50291-1:2018 and BS 5446-2:2003, the dual-sensor unit pairs an electrochemical CO detection cell with an A2 heat sensor (58°C activation threshold) to mitigate false alarms from dust, steam, or cooking fumes while ensuring early response to combustion hazards.

Operating on a 230V AC mains supply (3.3W max, 0.5W standby), the unit features a non-replaceable 10-year sealed lithium backup battery (3V CR123A) for maintenance-free operation over its full service life. Internal features include automatic self-diagnostic sensor testing, a 3-LED status indicator (Power/Fault/Alarm), an auto-dimming power LED for non-intrusive night operation, an 85dB sounder at 3 metres, a 10-minute alarm hush function, and a 12-hour fault silence option. A 24-hour memory feature retains visual indication following an alarm activation.

The ES1CHLV mounts onto an anti-tamper lock-in wiring base, supporting hardwired interlinking across up to 28 compatible Espire mains safety devices over a maximum cabling distance of 300 metres. Wireless hybrid interlinking is supported via the optional ES1RF RF-Link module. Housed in a flame-retardant, UV-stabilised ABS enclosure (Ø132mm x 59mm, UL94-V0 rated), the unit is backed by a 5-year guarantee.
