Identification signs are designed to indicate the type of extinguisher below and the category of fire that it can and cannot be used on. They also make it easier to spot the location of the fire extinguisher and see if any are missing.
Every extinguisher requires a relevant ID sign to be installed above it to conform with British Standards.
