The BRK 690MBX mains powered heat alarm is supplied with a 9V alkaline back-up battery that will provide power to the unit in the event of a mains failure.
Heat alarms respond to rises in temperature rather than smoke and are triggered when the surrounding temperature reaches an approx set temperature level. The thermistor heat sensing technology that is used avoids nuisance alarms as the unit does not react to cooking fumes or steams from cooking appliances.
This alarm is perfect for use in the kitchen, garage or attic as it can detect rapid changes in temperature. This product can be used with up to 12 compatible smoke and heat alarms for simultaneous warnings.
This unit is suitable for use as part of a BS5839:6 Grade D2 system, is supplied with a standard base and has a 5-year warranty guaranteed.
