Fire Champion Lith-Ex Fire Extinguisher

Products powered by lithium ion batteries increase in prevalence every day, and so in turn does the threat of fires caused by this type of battery. We are proud to offer the Fire Champion Lith-Ex, the only lithium ion battery fire extinguisher currently on the market, which employs innovative and revolutionary technology to tackle high risk fires of a limited size.

Application

It is suitable for use primarily in confined spaces, ranging from homes and hotel rooms to a variety of vehicles. It not only tackles battery fires in personal electronic devices such as mobile phones, tablets, toys and power tools, but can also be used on electrical fires up to 35,000 volts and Class A combustible materials like wood, paper and fabric.

Technology

The extinguishing agent used in Lith-Ex is called AVD-Li, which is made from naturally occurring vermiculite propelled by nitrogen—this is environmentally friendly and non-toxic. The body is constructed from lightweight aluminium, and is designed to be compact and easy to store.

Approvals

It has a service life of 3 years, and comes supplied with a discreet bracket and a simple step-by-step usage guide. It is manufactured to BS 6165:2002, and tested to BS EN 3-7:2008 and a lithium battery extinguishing test protocol developed by Dupré Minerals in conjunction with ZSW GmbH.
